Socialising with a big dog

Little me
As well as our walk around the property, we’ve been going for a walk up Oxley’s road. I smell lots of new things and Graham’s teaching me to sit and heel, but I forget a lot ‘cause there’s so much new to see and smell.  Yesterday a great big poodle came for a visit while his master cleaned our stairs. He was massive!! A giant curly haired poodle named Basil. I tell you I dropped and rolled over on my back every time he came near me for the first little while, However, he seemed OK and soon enough we were running around the front yard, and I got bold enough to jump up at him too. I was exhausted when he left.

So big I almost fill my puppy crate now...
We went for a walk today and Julie took photos of me in my crate. She says I fill it up now compared to when I arrived in it as a little guy. Graham told her some times he sees me and I look like a puppy, and some times when he looks at me I look like a dog. I’m not sure how I can look so different. Humans, who can figure them out?

Now I have to get on my belly to get under the table, and I can lay my head on the seat without jumping up.

Julie’s Back

Things have changed again since I’ve been here.  Graham seemed to be getting excited about something, he’s been cleaning the house and is really energized. He left me at home one day after getting all spruced up and when he came home, he came around the corner with someone. I recognized the voice and smell immediately.

Yowie!!  It was my alpha female. I couldn’t wiggle my body hello fast enough.  I talked to her and wiggled and jiggled and jumped up and down and couldn’t wait for the gate of my pen to open so I could lick her. Yippee, I ran around and jumped and talked to her and wiggled and jiggled, to show her how happy I was to see her.  I had to keep going over and licking and nibbling her to make sure she was really there.

Graham’s energy has changed considerably now. He seems content and more settled.  Julie kept saying I’ve grown. She’s really tired. I can tell, not only because she yawns and wants to sleep a lot, but her energy seems really, really low.

It’s nice to have my pack back in order again!

Back to the routine & Still Growing

The dynamics of the house has changed again. The 2 female pack members which were here for a couple of weeks have gone now, and the house is quiet and the atmosphere has changed. The alpha female Julie isn’t around either, heavy sigh..... but I did hear her voice the other day. Graham held a plastic box towards me and I heard her voice. I looked for her every where, but I couldn’t see her.

I could hear her calling me though.. I checked under the table, and around the yard, but when I got close to the little box, I could hear her.  I licked it but it didn’t taste like her.

We’re back to our regular routine, I’m up at 5:45 am ish – Graham comes down and we go for a stroll around the yard, then I get breakfast while he does his exercises. Time for a bigger stroll around the yard, then I hang out for a while. Sometimes with him, sometimes outside while he does things.

Graham says I’m growing. I’m not too sure what that means, but I can’t walk under the picnic table any more. Now I have to crawl to get under on my belly.  I notice my little crate is getting a bit cramped when I curl up in it, but I do love it so. The villa is great, it’s still very roomy.  I’m up to Graham’s knee now and I don’t have to put my feet up on the seat to see, I can just lay my head on it when I walk up.

I have lots of toys, but my favourite is still my plant pot. I had to get a new one ‘cause I couldn’t stick my head in my old one anymore, it was too small.

I still snooze a lot after we’ve had a play, hmmm it's warm here under the table I've been very active so I think I’ll just  zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
